The staff at Two Inlets Mill is here a lot, six days a week, nine hours per day, to be exact. So perhaps it makes us a little goofy…but we are fun. We are always glad to give our customers advice and to help them choose the right products for their project. Below you can view some of the friendly faces who work at Two Inlets Mill. The Two Inlets Mills had a very humble beginning. We started out as a small circle saw sitting out in the middle of the field, facing any weather that came its way. Our founder George Kueber spent many hours every day cutting lumber for his neighbors and other locals in the area. "It was a tough way to make a living," George always said. Demand grew to the point that in 1968, the saw blade grew to 54 inches and boasted not only a roof over its head but a complete building.
But we didn't stop growing there. In 1973 a planer was moved on site, which allowed us to start selling planned material. Then in 1978, the business grew its "second personality" as a retailer. With the local housing demand increasing, we started selling building materials, such as doors, windows or anything else needed to build a house. We are proud to be owned by the second generation of Kuebers, and still refer to ourselves as having a "dual personality," as we are still both a retailer and manufacturer.
We have seen the ups and downs of the building market, with 18 employees at our peak, to 7 at our valley, to the 13 we have here today. We have three estimators with us, who are always happy to quote all your needs, staff who can help draw plans, and our mill and planer side milling nine different species of local logs in eleven different patterns. Look through our products page for the list of species of and patterns we have, and to view a complete list of brand names we carry.
